Tonight is the night. We begin our 11th season in the NDSU North Softball League. In retrospect, it has been one hell of a ride. The good things are many. First there are our two league titles. There has been the many faces we have seen over the last decade. There has been the fact that we still have five players playing from the original Barnstormer days. Myself, Jason, Randy, Dammon, and Sabe continue to lead this team year in and year out onto the field. There has been the additions of Tommy, Barry, Mike, and Snake who have been around for several years.
The bad are not nearly as mountainous as the good. There was the 3-19 record of our second year team. The loss of many players through the years, and of course, the many second place finishes that have left a stale taste in our mouths.
But through it all, it is still Hog Palace Softball and that is what keeps us coming back no matter how many years it is. We have most of the same crew back this year for another run at a Thursday night title. We have added Barry back, and Andrew Alba. We once again got it in the brown eye when it comes to schedule. Fleck buried us up at McKinley for the first 6 weeks. What would a rant be without sticking it to him atleast once.
That is about it, come see us throughout the year, we are still the best show in town. See you at the Yard, Meat!
