Rants from the Dugout

Feel Like Takin' Two!

08/02/2007

After the sound thumping we took at Willow this past weekend, it was time two bounce back with a vengence! Fortunately for us we were paired up against the single worst team in the league, the Brew Crew. The table was set for one world class ass beatin, and we weren't taking any prisoners!
Game one started out with us with the sticks, and ended similar to the weekend. We put two runners on base only to leave them hanging, again! Thankfully, we had our ace in the hole on the mound, Snake. He didn't give up a hit until the 4th inning to a fat, afro, porn star. Way to pick'um Snake! In the 4th, we took names with a lead off dinger to left center by ET. All I have to say is, about f*ckin time! After that we would string together some singles and fielders choices to plate Shakey and Andy, and just like that we were up by 3. That would be all we would need. In the 5th, we would score 4 more on a string of singles by Donnie, Snake, Chris, Sabe, Andy and Tommy. We would shut them down in the 6th, and plate 4 more highlighted by a 3 run dinger to left center, again, by ET. Snake would slam the door in the bottom of the sixth, for a 4 hit shutout in slowpitch softball. It was nice to stuff to someone with a shutout after this past weekend.
In game 2, we would shake things up but come out with the same result. Two in the first, 3 in the 2nd, 4 in the 3rd and 2 in the 5th. They would manage to score 5 on some questionable calls and LUCK!. Donnie C slammed the door in the 7th for the win. We would scatter 15 hits and patiently take 7 free passes. They were outmanned, outclassed and outplayed from pitch one. We needed to take two, better yet, we needed to take two in the fashion that we did. Enough said.
It is always good to take two when we know that we are losing players to the WE Fest bug. But what left us puzzled was where in the world was Barry Peet. He was a no-show for Red Willow, and he was a no-show for this weeks games. I can sense a call to Cass-Clay Creamery coming along in the future. Next week is the season finale, and judging by the calls already, we are going to need all the live bodies we can get. So come out and cheer your favorite team one last time next week! See you at the yard, Meat!
