We took the field this past week in the hopes of putting some distance between us and the rest of the league. By nights end, it would be mission accomplished. In game one we played Wood Chuckers again. This game would simply be a continuation from the previous weeks 20-7 victory. We sprung out to an early lead and played probably the most complete defensive game of the season. Im not going to bore you with individual highlights, but suffice it to say it was a total team effort. One effort that ended in a 16-0 shutout.
In game 2, we took the field against a much younger club in Chub's Pub. They were coming off a ten run drubbing of the Bison Turf, so they were ready to keep it rolling. This team didnt have a chance. We shot out of the gates with 9 early runs and never looked back. When it was said and done 14-4 was the score in favor of the Good Guys. During this game some interesting things occured to me. Boy, have we improved! Secondly, one player from Chub's made mention as to why we are not in a higher rec level. Let me take this opportunity to explain. Well, if we crunched some numbers I'm pretty sure you would find that the Hog Palace has the highest average age of any team in the league. Plus, learn you history buddy. We have been slaving in this league for 13 years. I believe the word that is not in your limited immature vocabulary is RESPECT. So just accept the fact that you got your asses kicked not once, or twice, but three times this season by an aging team that is the BEST IN THE LEAGUE!
This week we will be running on a skeleton crew, as five to six regulars will be at Inbred Fest called We Fest or at Tosh. Sissies, I'm taking mental roll call and am gonna remember this shit! The good thing is that we play Outdoor Bunker, and they haven't won a game in the league yet. It will NOT start this week. So come out and watch the commited die hards of the Hog Palace keep the ball rolling with a pair this Thursday at NDSU. See you at the Yard, Meat!
